Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data DUSK ("we", "us") collects through www.sensedusk.com and our shade-matching tools, why, and the choices you have. We are based in Vadodara, Gujarat, India, and we handle personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
The short version
- Browsing the site does not require you to give us any personal data, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- If you contact us, we receive what you type into the form and use it only to reply.
- If you use a skin scan, we process your photo only after you give explicit consent, use it to measure your skin tone and find matching shades, and never save it.
Information we collect
When you browse the site
Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes standard technical data — such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested — to deliver the site and keep it secure. We use privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics to count page views and measure page speed; these do not identify you or track you across other sites. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when your browser requests them.
When you contact us
The contact form collects your name, work email, and optionally your company, phone number and message. Submissions are delivered to our team by email through FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), a form-forwarding service. We use this information only to respond to your enquiry and, if you are a business, to discuss working together.
When you use a skin scan
Before any scan, we ask for your specific consent to (1) measure your skin tone from a photo and (2) match it against a product catalogue. These are required for the scan to work. A third purpose — using your answers and measurement to improve the product — is optional.
- Your photo is measured in your browser, then sent securely to our servers only to find your shade matches. We never save it — it is discarded as soon as the match is made.
- Your measurement (for example your Monk Skin Tone level, undertone and CIELAB colour values) and any survey answers are kept only if you agree to the optional "improve the product" purpose.
- Your consent record is stored in your own browser (localStorage), not on our servers. You can withdraw consent at any time from the same screen, or by clearing your browser storage.
- A random session identifier is kept in your browser for the length of the tab (sessionStorage) so that one scan's steps stay together. It is not linked to your name or email.
How we use your information
- To provide the shade measurement, matches and virtual try-on you ask for.
- To reply to enquiries and manage business relationships.
- With your optional consent, to improve the accuracy and inclusiveness of our measurements.
- To keep the site secure and working, and to understand in aggregate which pages are useful.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your photo or measurements for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run DUSK — hosting (Vercel), form delivery (FormSubmit), email, and the infrastructure that runs our matching service — and only as needed for them to provide that service. We may disclose information if required by law.
How long we keep it
We never save photos. Contact enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and for any resulting business relationship. Measurements and survey answers shared for product improvement are kept for as long as they are useful for that purpose, and deleted on request.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw any consent you have given, and raise a grievance about how we have handled your data. Email palgandhi@sensedusk.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Our skin-scan tools are intended for adults. We ask you to confirm your age before a scan and do not knowingly process photos of anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes affecting consent will be shown before your next scan.
